Thyroid Profile
Your thyroid controls your energy, weight and mood. This panel checks all four key thyroid markers — much more thorough than a standard NHS TSH-only test.
Is the Thyroid Profile right for you?
- Feel persistently tired and sluggish, with weight gain, feeling the cold or low mood — symptoms that can point to an underactive thyroid.
- Feel 'wired', with anxiety, palpitations, weight loss, tremor or heat intolerance — symptoms that may suggest an overactive thyroid.
- Have a family history of thyroid or autoimmune disease.
- Are already on thyroid medication (such as levothyroxine) and want to check the dose is keeping levels in range.
- Have unexplained hair loss, dry skin or irregular periods, which can have a thyroid cause.
6 markers, explained in plain English
The Thyroid panel measures 6 markers: TSH, free T4, free T3, and two thyroid antibodies (anti-thyroid peroxidase and anti-thyroglobulin). Together they can help identify or rule out an underactive thyroid (hypothyroidism), an overactive thyroid (hyperthyroidism), and autoimmune thyroid conditions such as Hashimoto's and Graves' disease.
Markers you can also test on their own
Every marker in the Thyroid Profile can also be booked individually. Tap a marker to learn what it measures and why it's tested.

Your questions about the Thyroid Profile
What does a thyroid blood test check? +
This 6-marker panel measures TSH, free T4 and free T3 together with anti-thyroid peroxidase and anti-thyroglobulin antibodies. It can help identify or rule out an underactive thyroid (hypothyroidism), an overactive thyroid (hyperthyroidism) and autoimmune thyroid conditions such as Hashimoto's and Graves' disease. Every result is reviewed by a clinician.
Do I need to fast before this blood test? +
No fasting is required for a thyroid panel. If you take thyroid medication such as levothyroxine, our team can advise on timing your dose around your appointment when you book.
Can this test monitor my thyroid medication? +
Yes. If you're on thyroid hormone replacement, this panel is commonly used to check that your dose is keeping levels in the right range. A clinician reviews every result and explains what it means and whether any change may be worth discussing with your prescriber.
