Who it's for

Is the Heart Health right for you?

  • Have a family history of heart disease, including early heart attacks or strokes in close relatives.
  • Have 'normal' standard cholesterol but are still concerned about their cardiovascular risk.
  • Have high blood pressure, a major and modifiable cardiovascular risk factor.
  • Have metabolic risk factors such as excess weight, raised blood sugar or a sedentary lifestyle.
  • Are over 40 and want a detailed risk baseline to inform lifestyle and prevention decisions.
What it checks

14 markers, explained in plain English

The Heart Health panel measures 14 markers that go beyond a standard cholesterol test, including apolipoprotein B and the ApoB/A-I ratio, apolipoprotein CIII and E, lipoprotein(a), small LDL cholesterol, the standard lipid profile (total cholesterol, LDL, triglycerides and the cholesterol/HDL ratio) and high-sensitivity CRP. Together these markers assess the actual atherogenic particles and inflammation driving cardiovascular risk, which can be raised even when standard cholesterol looks normal.

Markers you can also test on their own

Every marker in the Heart Health can also be booked individually. Tap a marker to learn what it measures and why it's tested.

FAQs

Your questions about the Heart Health

How is this different from a standard cholesterol test? +

A standard test reports total cholesterol, HDL, LDL and triglycerides. This advanced panel adds apolipoprotein B (a direct count of atherogenic particles), lipoprotein(a), small dense LDL and high-sensitivity CRP. These can reveal raised cardiovascular risk even when standard cholesterol looks normal. Every result is reviewed by a clinician.

Do I need to fast before this test? +

For the most accurate triglyceride and lipid results we usually ask you to fast beforehand. Our team will confirm any preparation when you book.

What happens if a result comes back abnormal? +

A clinician reviews every panel before it's released. If something is outside the normal range, we explain what it means in plain English and recommend sensible next steps — which may include a GP appointment, a repeat test, or onward referral. This test is a screening investigation and isn't a substitute for a clinical diagnosis.
