Who it's for

Is the Stress Panel right for you?

  • You're dealing with burnout or overload — chronic fatigue and running on empty after a long period of high pressure
  • You have poor sleep — difficulty switching off, broken sleep or waking unrefreshed despite an early night
  • You're in a high-pressure job and want objective data to support how you manage stress
  • You have unexplained weight gain, particularly around the middle, that diet alone hasn't shifted
  • You're recovering slowly from exertion, illness or training the way you used to
What it checks

9 markers, explained in plain English

This focused panel measures two hormones — cortisol and DHEA-sulphate — that sit at the centre of your body's stress response. Cortisol is the body's main stress hormone, where sustained highs or unexpected lows can point to a stress response that has shifted out of its normal pattern, while DHEA-sulphate is the hormone that counterbalances it, with low levels linked to fatigue, reduced libido and cognitive symptoms. Read together, the two markers help a clinician judge HPA-axis activity and overall adrenal stress burden.

FAQs

Your questions about the Stress Panel

What does the stress blood test measure? +

It measures two key adrenal hormones: cortisol, the body's main stress hormone, and DHEA-sulphate, which counterbalances cortisol. Together they give a snapshot of your adrenal stress response and HPA-axis activity, helping a clinician identify or rule out problems such as an over- or under-active stress response.

When should the sample be taken? +

Cortisol follows a daily rhythm and is highest in the morning, so a morning appointment gives the most useful result. Our team will advise on timing when you book.

Will this test diagnose burnout? +

The test gives objective data on your adrenal hormones, which can support a conversation about stress, fatigue and recovery. It is a screening investigation and is not a substitute for a clinical diagnosis. A clinician reviews every result and explains what it means and any sensible next steps.
