Your questions about the Standard Screen Plus (Male)
What does the Standard Screen Plus blood test check for men? +
It is a 20-marker general health panel for men covering the heart and cholesterol, liver function, kidney function and salts, thyroid, blood sugar (glucose and HbA1c), inflammation, iron and vitamin D, plus a prostate-specific antigen (PSA) check and urinalysis. A clinician can use it to help identify or rule out common health issues in one blood draw.
Does this test include a PSA prostate check? +
Yes. The male panel includes Total Prostate Specific Antigen (PSA), a blood marker that can support assessment of prostate health. A raised PSA is not a diagnosis on its own — a clinician reviews your result and advises on sensible next steps if needed.
Do I need to fast before this blood test? +
Because this panel includes glucose, HbA1c and a full cholesterol profile, we usually recommend fasting for around 10–12 hours beforehand for the most accurate results. Our team will confirm any preparation when you book.
What happens if a result comes back abnormal? +
A clinician reviews every panel before it is released. If something is outside the normal range, we explain what it means in plain English and recommend sensible next steps — which may include a GP appointment, a repeat test, or onward referral. This test is a screening investigation and is not a substitute for a clinical diagnosis.
