Digestive Health
This panel screens for two of the most common, treatable causes of persistent gut symptoms in a single blood draw.
Is the Digestive Health right for you?
- Chronic bloating, abdominal discomfort, diarrhoea or constipation that won't settle
- Unexplained low iron — coeliac disease is a common hidden cause of iron deficiency anaemia
- A first-degree relative with coeliac disease, which carries around a 10% risk
- Dyspepsia, reflux or a history of peptic ulcer disease linked to H. pylori
- Wanting a coeliac test before going gluten-free, since testing is only accurate while still eating gluten
10 markers, explained in plain English
This panel screens for two of the most common, treatable causes of persistent gut symptoms in a single blood draw. It measures tissue transglutaminase IgA (tTG-IgA), the primary recommended coeliac screening marker, alongside total IgA to make sure a coeliac result isn't falsely negative in someone with IgA deficiency. It also checks for Helicobacter pylori antibodies, the bacterium behind most peptic ulcers. A clinician reviews the results and advises on sensible next steps, which may include further investigation.
Markers you can also test on their own
Every marker in the Digestive Health can also be booked individually. Tap a marker to learn what it measures and why it's tested.

Your questions about the Digestive Health
What does this digestive health test screen for? +
It screens for two of the most common, treatable causes of persistent gut symptoms: coeliac disease (using tissue transglutaminase IgA, with total IgA to avoid false negatives) and Helicobacter pylori infection. A clinician reviews your results and can help identify or rule out these causes and advise on next steps.
Do I need to keep eating gluten before a coeliac test? +
Yes — this is important. Coeliac blood tests are only reliable while you are still eating gluten regularly. If you cut gluten out beforehand, the test can come back falsely negative. Keep eating your normal diet until after the blood draw.
Do I need to fast before this blood test? +
No fasting is required for the digestive health panel.
