Who it's for

Is the Diabetes Status right for you?

  • Increased thirst, frequent urination, fatigue, blurred vision or recurrent infections
  • Carrying extra weight — a BMI over 25, especially around the middle — which raises the risk of insulin resistance
  • A close relative with type 2 diabetes, which increases your own risk
  • A history of PCOS or gestational diabetes, both strongly linked to later insulin resistance
  • Over 45 and wanting to screen for prediabetes even without symptoms, while it's still reversible
What it checks

8 markers, explained in plain English

This panel measures 8 markers to build a full picture of how your body manages blood sugar. HbA1c shows your average blood sugar over roughly three months, while fasting glucose gives a snapshot at the time of the test. Insulin helps reveal insulin resistance, which is often present long before glucose rises, and C-peptide shows how much insulin your pancreas is making — helping a clinician distinguish insulin-deficient from insulin-resistant states. Together they can help identify or rule out diabetes, prediabetes and insulin resistance.

FAQs

Your questions about the Diabetes Status

Can this test diagnose diabetes? +

It can help. HbA1c, glucose, insulin and C-peptide together let a clinician identify or rule out diabetes, prediabetes and insulin resistance, and start to tell apart insulin-deficient from insulin-resistant states. A formal diagnosis is made by a clinician in the context of your symptoms and history — every result here is reviewed by a clinician who explains what it means.

Do I need to fast before this blood test? +

Because this panel includes fasting glucose and insulin, we usually ask you to avoid eating for several hours beforehand — water is fine. Our team will confirm the preparation when you book, and morning appointments make fasting easier.

What's the difference between HbA1c and glucose? +

Glucose is a snapshot of your blood sugar at the moment of the test, while HbA1c reflects your average over about three months. Measuring both, alongside insulin and C-peptide, gives a much fuller picture than either alone.
